There’s not a lot that makes you bust with pride like bringing home a brand-new piece of farmers equipment that you’ve worked hard to get home. However, when you’re starting out, those five figure price tags can leave you a little breathless. Buying new equipment in Lynden is a lot like taking out a student loan, you’re investing in the future, but in the meantime it can look like an awfully big price tag.

Cutting the Cost

You don’t need it to look pretty, but you do need it to work. There are a few different routes that you can go to get the equipment you need, at a price you can afford to pay off.

A number of dealers have farmers’ equipment on the lot that while it is brand-new, it didn’t sell. You can find these previous years models on fairly steep discounts for some very modern equipment.

Buy the model. This falls between buying new and buying used. These models may have never left the lot, but they cannot be sold as new equipment.

Buy used. If you’re buying from a reputable dealer in Lynden, you’ll know that you’re not buying a lemon. It might have a few scratches and dents, but as long as the mechanics are sound, you’ll be in good shape.

Rent. Renting your equipment can save you a lot of money upfront, but you should be aware that during harvest season everybody is going to want to rent the same equipment that you do.

Put Your Wallet to Work

You need to make your money work for you, and when it comes to buying equipment you need to use your best judgment on where those dollars will do the most good. Work with a reputable local farm equipment dealer to get your best advice and your best deal.
