When you’re living in your own space while in college, others might think that it’s simply another home. However, this is a space where you can let your personality shine through and where you can be comfortable between classes. Here are a few ideas to consider if you’re trying to save space while still keeping the warm and cozy look.

Living Room

As you begin decorating your IU student housing apartment, keep in mind that the living room can be the focal point of your home. Even if you have roommates, it’s where everyone will gather together to talk about the day or to just relax. A comfortable couch and a chair can be placed against one wall while a television can be mounted so that you don’t have to take up more space with a coffee table or stand. Consider using soft colors that can give a comfortable feeling to the room.

Bedroom

This is where you’re going to want to focus your efforts on making the space as relaxing as possible. Invest in a mattress that doesn’t hurt your back as you want to be able to function during the day without being in pain. Utilize the space under the bed for storage if you don’t have a large closet. You can also put shelves on the walls for items like picture frames and decorations.

Dining

When you decorate your dining room in your IU student housing apartment, think about a round table that doesn’t take up quite as much space. Baskets in the cabinets are ideal for keeping everything organized and in one place.
