Gatlinburg is a great place to go

Gatlinburg is the front door that takes you to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. A large number of Gatlinburg attractions take advantage of this. One such attraction, the Space Needle, offers the visitor wide panoramas of the park from a height of over 400 feet. A similar attraction is the aerial cable car that travels over two miles from downtown to Ober Gatlinburg, an very popular amusement park and winter ski resort.

Gatlinburg has something for every member of the family; there are many things that are dedicated to keeping the youngsters happy as well as an easy going charm that appeal to Mom and Dad, enough to keep families coming back year after year.

With Gatlinburg being the front door to the Great Smoky Mountains Natural Park it is only reasonable that many of Gatlinburg attractions focus on outdoor activities. Downhill skiing, absolutely world class golf courses, great fishing and well over 600 miles of hiking trails make the area one of America’s premier outdoor destination. Skiing, golf, fishing and hiking are only the tip of the iceberg; there is zip lining, biking, horseback riding and river tubing to keep the most active sportsman happy.

You don’t have to be a kid or someone who enjoys highly charged activities; there are many Gatlinburg attractions that cater to people of all ages and dispositions. Gatlinburg is the home of many unique museums, you can have a quick round of golf, miniature golf that is or you can try your hand at driving a go-cart. The number one aquarium in the country is located in Gatlinburg; Ripley’s Aquarium has a great underwater tunnel where you can get up close and personal with huge sharks, sea turtles and literally thousands of exotic fish from around the world.

No week end away with the guys is complete without a visit to local Gatlinburg wineries, the local brewery or the local moonshine distillery. Downtown Gatlinburg is a walker’s delight and if you do get tired, just wait for a few minutes until the next trolley comes along.

The area is absolutely ideal for a romantic get-away or to have your dream wedding. There are at least two dozen chapels, each of which is unique. With the beautiful scenery and picturesque backdrops including cascading waterfalls you can arrange a wedding unlike any you have been to before.
