Analog or Digital

The two basic options in a tension indicator are the digital and analog models. Analog systems are ideal for many types of applications and provide an easy way to determine the tension with a glance. They can be customized to the specific scale required for the system.

Digital systems use an LED display. Like the analog models, specialized scales can be integrated into the electronics of the system. Additionally, as with the analog model, there is also the option to monitor the tension applied to the transducers or the tension on the system. Design Considerations

Regardless of the readout option for the tension indicator, choosing a device that is built to last is important. Check to make sure the enclosure for the electronics is corrosion resistant and made of stainless steel that meets the required ratings.

Verify the power options are compatible with the system in place and also that the mounting position and location is ideal for machinery and equipment. It is also important to consider how easy the indicator is to configure, adjust, and set. Checking the ambient temperature range for the use of the device before making a choice is another factor to consider.
